The Professional Womens Hockey League (PWHL) has announced that an expansion team will be coming to Las Vegas to start playing at the start of next season. If you haven’t heard of the PWHL, you’re not alone; it’s only a couple of years old, having launched in January 2024 with eight teams comprising elite-level women hockey players. The Vegas team will share T-Mobile with the VGK, which is in full support of the franchise, and based on league crowd counts, which averaged nearly 10,000 and sold a million tickets this year, it could pack the place. Detroit and Hamilton, Ontario, will also field teams in the 2026-2027 season.
