Casinos.com analyzed 830,250 TripAdvisor reviews about 108 major U.S. casinos, searching for “20 luck and reward-related keywords”: luck, lucky, jackpot, hand pay, bonus, won, etc. They found 137,176 citations of the keywords, then refined and adjusted the survey through a statistical technique (based on Bayes’ Theorem) to account for anomalies. Phew. Anyway, the casino that earned the top spot as luckiest for players was Seminole Hard Rock Tampa, which garnered 323.6 luck mentions per 1,000 reviews out of 1,869 reviews). That was followed by Parx Casino in Pennsylvania (322.6 per with 2,066 reviews) and South Point (318.6 with 6,562 reviews). The Palms placed 10th (279.3 with 4,548 reviews). The bottom five were all on the Strip: Caesars (#104), Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, Bellagio, and Luxor (#108). Of course, as the survey notes, a “huge” proportion of their tens of thousands of reviews on TripAdvisor don’t mention gambling at all and focus instead on rooms, restaurants, shows, pools, and of course resort fees.
