Less than four years after opening to major hoopla, the Jonas Bros.-branded Nellie’s Southern Kitchen will close at the end of business on Labor Day. It was run by the Jonas parents in a joint venture with a New York-based investment firm. Nellie’s “celebrates the comfort food, hospitality, and Southern charm” that date back to the family’s 1760s roots in North Carolina. The original Nellie’s, in Belmont, North Carolina, will remain open. No plans for the space, tucked in an out-of-the-way corner at the end of restaurant row at MGM Grand, have been announced.
